Meet Harmony Mafield (she/her)—Owner and Head Piercer at Opalescent Studio! With many years of professional piercing experience, Harmony has built her career on raising the bar for safe, skilled body piercing in West Virginia. After more than a decade at Stick Tattoo Company and now widely Known in The Morgantown area for Quality Piercing, she is proud to now open Opalescent Studio, a luxury space dedicated to quality piercing, fine jewelry, and permanent cosmetics.

Harmony is one of the few piercers in the region who has found long-term success in focusing solely on body piercing within the tattoo industry. She proudly represents female piercers in the WV, PA, and MD areas. She is well known for her expertise in curated ear projects, children’s lobe piercings, septum piercings, and female genital piercings. What sets her apart is her caring bedside manner and thoughtful approach—making every appointment safe, welcoming, and stress-free.

When it comes to jewelry, Harmony’s Heart belongs to the Opal—a stone that inspired the name Opalescent Studio. The gemstone holds personal meaning, passed down from her late and very missed Father David (also an October baby) Making them a natural centerpiece in her work.

Harmony a true Scorpio and (almost) Halloween baby she naturally is all about the dark, witchy, spooky and often creepy vibes and of course anything Purple 💜 🖤💜 Outside of the studio you’ll often find her and partner Shane, searching Morgantown for the best food or sneaking away on last-minute adventures. In the summertime, she’s guaranteed to be on the water.. Kayaking, swimming, or dreaming of the Ocean. Harmony Cherishes time spent with her Family (a few whom will become familiar faces around Opalescent Studio) But most Importantly, she’s known as The Best “Auntie” always soaking up every moment with her favorite little man.

At Opalescent Studio, Harmony works hard to educate and elevate the safety standards of piercing studios in West Virginia. Her mission is to provide safe, clean, and professional piercings using only the highest-quality, implant-grade body jewelry and by carefully considering each client’s anatomy pairing it with her skill and knowledge, she creates unique, balanced, and aesthetic looks tailored to each individual.
